The flagship lineup of beers available year round include:

Old Inlet Pale Ale ~ An American-style pale ale with hints of fruit and flowers from Cascade hops.
ABV 5%.

Broken Birch Bitter ~A Best Bitter with the bold, citrus-like flavors of Centennial and Cascade hops. Each keg is dry-hopped to give the additional nose to satisfy any hop-head. This is very much a “session beer” with a an ABV of around 5% and is truly the signature beer of the brewmaster. The “broken birch” is an image, not the use of the syrup.

Red Knot Scottish ~ Named for a migrating shorebird. Using flavorful Scottish ale yeast makes this amber-colored, malty brew a “user friendly” ale. It is loved by the masses and is our #1 selling beer. ABV 5.6%.

China Poot Porter ~The recognizable peak across Kachemak Bay is where the name originates. This porter is robust and flavorful from the roasted malts yet slightly dry and crisp. ABV 5.4%.

Odyssey Oatmeal Stout ~ Homer’s…”Iliad and Odyssey”. This is a full-bodied stout that uses oatmeal in the mash to give it smooth flavor and rich body. ABV 6%.

Seasonals and Specialties

Artistic licensing is fully utilized in the brewhouse and new beers and old favorites will cycle through the tap lines during the year. Summer is not the time to find much in this area due to the demands of our flagship beers, but come Fall, the alchemy of brewing begins to show up. A few of our specialties include:

King & Wing ESB~Not quite year-round, but almost. It’s malty and hoppy and higher in the alcohol. Most breweries call a brew with these characteristics an IPA and most breweries call something in their line-up an IPA, but due to stubbornness and widespread misunderstanding of the style, we prefer Extra Special Bitter. Don’t let the name scare you. The flavor will surprise you with bold hop profiles and roasty malts.

Oktoberfest ~Brewed with a California Common lager yeast, this is as close to a lager as we get. Often, this yeast spawns other brews throughout the year.

Celestiale ~ A Belgian style spiced ale arrives around the Winter Solstice to enjoy at the holidays. This Belgian Abbey yeast will also be used in other, non-spiced brews throughout the year.

Royal Imperial Stout ~You know it’s winter when this one arrives. It’s big, bold and will warm the cockles of your heart.

Zen Chai Zen & Alaska Chai

In addition to our “Fresh Traditional Countriy Ales”, Homer Brewing Company produces two styles of authentic Indian spiced teas, Zen Chai and Alaska Chai.
The spice blend comes from a family-run spice merchant in the city of Jodhpur. This latte alternative is available in concentrate to mix at home or can be found in the local and Anchorage coffee houses
